God is Faithful, Jackson Lao

While being in the Full-Time Training in Anaheim (FTTA) my view of God's faithfulness has greatly enhanced. I grew up in a Christian home and met regularly with other Christians. I often prayed with them and on my own, yet not much result was ever produced. It was not that I did not pray enough, neither was it that God was not listening to my prayers. Looking back at those times, my unanswered prayers were due to my lack of knowing how the Lord was leading. Being in the FTTA my prayers were adjusted to match the Lord's moving. When my prayers began to echo what was in God's heart, He began to answer them.

God's heart is always in saving people (1 Timothy 2:3,4) and filling them with Himself as life (1 John 5:12) so that man would be an expression of Him (1 John 3:2). So when we began to go out and speak to people, we would pray according to this goal. As we prayed and went out to speak about Christ many people opened up to receive the Lord (John 1:12) as their Savior and as their life. I was totally astonished by how faithful the Lord is in answering prayers according to His heart.

Another example is that I and other Christians in the FTTA were praying for at least one person to be baptized by the end of the month. It was the middle of the month when we prayed this. At the end of that month, the last day, a newly saved believer wanted to be baptized. Thus we baptized him on the last day of that month. The Lord is truly faithful.

Before I came to the FTTA, I felt that God was not listening to my prayers. I felt that He was not faithful to my requests, but after learning in the FTTA how to pray, I realized that God is truly faithful. He does even more than we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). We just need to echo His heart's desire. Without coming to the FTTA I believe I still would be praying prayers that God doesn't want to answer or prayers that don't echo His heart.
